“I’m so glad I had the
opportunity to see the exhibits. It was
something that I may have never been able to do without the trip.
Seeing the actual artifacts helped me to understand what we were
learning in class. It was nice to see the actual items instead of
just
pictures in a book or on a website.” Natalie Pearsall |
“I have been to some of the best
museums in the world. However, I have
never had the chance to walk through a museum w/someone of expertise in
the subject. Being able to discuss the artifacts w/my proffessor
was a
fantastic learning experience.” Jeff Spiegelman |
“Thank you for giving us the
opportunity to view two of the best
museums in the U.S. Seeing the exhibits in person not only
clarifies
what is learned in class, but makes me want to learn more.” Jason Simoni |
“Having never even taken a
history course at Ithaca, I was somewhat
apprehensive when I was invited to fill an empty seat on the New York
trip. After all, I had no idea what to expect. However, I
found the
entire experience very entertaining and interesting. For me at
least,
the best was being able to learn about dieties such as Isis and Osiris
through actual sculptures and other pieces of art. The interplay
between religious mythology and real life was wonderful to see and I
feel very lucky having been a part of the trip.” Andy Dippell |
