Akhenaten
decided to establish a new capital in honor of Aten at a site on the
Nile associated with no other god. Some of the boundary markers at the
limits of the new city included images of the royal family worshiping
Aten. This fragment shows two of the royal princesses behind their mother,
Nefertiti, whose leg is visible at the right.
