          The most ordinary objects are often the most powerful reminder of what 
          we have in common with the people of a long-lost civilization, who also 
          worked, ate, furnished their homes and clothed their children. This 
          child's sandal, made for the left foot, is one of thousands worn by 
          Amarna's inhabitants.
