Saqqara, tomb of Amenemonet
Late Dynasty 18, about 1332 - 1292 B.C.
Limestone; h. 56 cm
Department of Egyptian Antiquities.

This finely crafted relief from the recently rediscovered tomb of a general at Saqqara depicts his parents. The sensitive modeling of the richly dressed figures, with their flaring sleeves and sumptuous wigs, is characteristic of post-Amarna relief style.
