This monument represents the king's "Chief of Works and Chief Sculptor," Bak, with his wife. Bak states elsewhere that the king himself instructed him, indicating Akhenaten's direct involvement with the new artistic style. Bak's wife is represented quite traditionally, but Bak's own huge belly and short legs demonstrate the exaggerated physical features of the approach that today we call the Amarna style.
