This
monument represents the king's "Chief of Works and Chief Sculptor," Bak, with
his wife. Bak states elsewhere that the king himself instructed him, indicating
Akhenaten's direct involvement with the new artistic style. Bak's wife is represented
quite traditionally, but Bak's own huge belly and short legs demonstrate the exaggerated
physical features of the approach that today we call the Amarna style.
